Part 21 –
You’re Made Worthy to Serve
This episode mostly addresses the hesitancy of many believers to engage in ministry based on a sense of unworthiness. Of course, none of us are “worthy” in and of ourselves, but we have been made worthy through the imputed righteousness of Christ. Yet even when believers have a proper understanding of the basis of righteousness, if they don’t engage in ministry, the sense of unworthiness is more pronounced since sin issues are the primary focus. The answer to this skewed perspective is the half-and-half approach where believers do ministry while they address issues of sin. Interestingly, ministry itself often unlocks the grace of God, the grace to do ministry through our weaknesses.

More About This Episode -

In this episode of “Kingdom Questions,” host Victor Vigorito addresses how to start the New Year right by discussing insights from the book of Nehemiah. He emphasizes the importance of receiving a vision from God and connecting that vision to one’s local church, as ministry is a collective effort. Vigorito introduces the “half and half approach” used by Nehemiah’s men, who built the wall while remaining vigilant and armed, paralleling this with the need for Christians to be engaged in ministry while being aware of their personal struggles with sin.

Victor elaborates on the idea that being involved in ministry helps put sin issues into perspective. He suggests that focusing solely on sin without working towards ministry can lead to excessive introspection and feelings of unworthiness. He stresses that the ultimate goal of the Christian faith is not merely to overcome sin but to actively serve God and engage in ministry, suggesting that understanding this frees believers from the burden of trying to be worthy based on their own righteousness.

He encourages listeners to see themselves as part of God’s plan, where their role is to serve Him rather than dwell on past failures. Vigorito reassures listeners that despite feeling unworthy, they can confidently step into service based on the righteousness of Christ.

In closing, he prays for guidance in adopting a balanced approach to ministry while managing personal sin issues, encouraging listeners to embrace their identities as servants of God.
